“Ah! There you are Shorty!”

Levi pushed down the growl that wanted to escape as the brunette approached him. He turned to face her but couldn't help but stare of what was in her arms, well, more like who.

It was a child, he had to guess she was six years old, she didn't look amused as she squirmed in the brunette's arms, she was a cute little thing with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes, wearing a dress and black flat shoes.

“What do you want four eyes?” He asked, making sure to not swear in front of a child, well, as much as he could.

He was stunned slightly when the child was shoved into his arms, he noticed she looked exhausted and he didn't blame her.

“Do this favor for me please!” Hanji begged.

“With what?”

“Look after my niece _____.”

He found it hard to believe this small, cute little girl was her niece, he could say no but she looked utterly tired and the thought of allowing an innocent child get near Sawney and Bean, those damn Titans disgusted him, not only that by the end of the day the poor kid might be dead from being dragged around by her aunt all day.

“Tch, fine.”

“Really!?”

“Hmph, you better owe me.”

“Thank you!” The brunette squealed. “I'll be back for her as the sun sets.”

The mad scientist ran off, leaving the corporal and child alone, instead of whining and crying for her aunt as he expected. She yawned and rubbed her eye.

“Tch, let's go brat.”

When cadets saw humanity's strongest walking around with a sleeping child in his arms, they stopped and stared at the cute little girl, some of the girls squealed while some of the boys pinched themselves to make sure they weren't seeing things that Corporal Levi, a man who hardly shows his emotions carrying a child around, her tiny arms were around his neck,  

“Haven't you got anything better to do!” Levi growled, not loud enough to wake the sleeping girl.

All scrambled from the scene, he grunted and carried on walking. _____ stirred in her sleep but relaxed once more, he had to admit, so far she wasn't squirming, he didn't know what the hell Hanji did to make her so tired but he had to guess she woke the poor kid early in the morning and dragged her around.

Erwin looked at Levi and then the child in confusion. The raven haired man came to a stop and shifted the small girl.

“Shitty glasses' niece.” He explained.

The blonde understood and then smiled slightly, the last time he saw the small girl she was a baby after a squealing Hanji brought the infant to HQ, much to the annoyance of the scientist's brother and the amusement of her sister-in-law.

“I take it you're babysitting?” The commander asked.

“Well four eyes did shove this little brat in my arms so I had no choice.”

“I don't think she'll bother you much, she never did when I took care of her for a couple of hours and she was a baby when I looked after her.”

“I hope you're right eyebrows.”

The office was silent, the only sound was the scribbling sound of pen to paper. Levi grumbled and glanced to the sofa to see _____ was still sleeping, damn she was a heavy sleeper. She was curled up, using a pillow from his room and a blanket, he knew soon she will be hungry and lunch was around the corner.

He watched as she stirred from her slumber and slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked around and then at him, the two stared at each other for a bit, having an awkward staring contest. She shifted uncomfortably, he was unsure what to do either, he never dealt with a child as young as the one looking at him.

“Aunt Hanji left me didn't she?”

He was slightly surprised but shrugged it off. “Unfortunately.”

She sighed and then frowned but then blushed when her stomach growled.

“Didn't you eat this morning?”

She shook her head. “No, didn't have a chance to.”

“Tch, some aunt she is.”

_____ giggled. Rubbing her eye and then yawned again, oh yeah. Hanji definitely dragged the poor kid of her home early and brought her to HQ until the (h/c) girl was shoved into his arms.

Levi grunted and got up from his chair as she looked at him in confusion.

“Alright brat, let's go.”

She hopped off of what she was sleeping on and followed him. He waited until she left the room and followed her, closing the office door and locked the door behind him, instead of running off like he expected she would do, she waited for him.

Cadets couldn't help but stare when the corporal walked along with a small girl holding his hand, some of then recognized the girl while others had no idea who she was, sensing she was nervous. Levi tightened his grip on her hand, not enough to hurt her and pulled her close to him.

“Don't you damn brats have anything better to do than stare!?”

They scrambled from the scene as he grumbled something under his breath and carried on forward to the mess hall, he wasn't going to stay for long, just enough for some tea and for her something to eat.

Both entered the mess hall while it was quiet, he noticed she wasn't too fond of being around too many people, out of the corner of his eye. Levi noticed Eren was looking at the small girl,the raven haired man had released her hand and she immediately went to find some food.

“Anything wrong Jaeger?”

The brunette jumped. “N-No sir, just curious about her, is she yours?”

“Tch, no she isn't, she is four eyes' niece.”

He said nothing and the two watched as she simply grabbed at least two bread rolls on tip toes.

“I find it hard to believe someone cute as her is related to Hanji.” Eren commented.

That was one thing Levi agrees on, he found it hard to believe this cute little girl was related to four eyes, the two watched as she turned to face them with two bread rolls in each hand looking at them innocently, who would of thought someone as innocent as her could face death anytime.

_____ was now happy she had something to eat, two bread rolls and something to drink, she was now happy and satisfied, despite that she was well behaved for a six year old, heck. Levi came across eight year old acting rudely, and no respect for their elders and yet a six year old is behaving better than them and some of the cadets, he found it sad that a child, who was ten years younger to some cadets behaving maturely.

She silently followed him, so far she wasn't causing any trouble and he didn't have damn time to do other things since he's a busy man and she knew that, cadets would stare and whisper at the small girl in which she would become extremely nervous, he narrowed his eyes.

“You lot must really want to do stable duty don't you!?”

All stiffened as _____ got closer to the corporal, he noticed she was wary around a crowd, she wasn't too fond of a group of more than three people and that group was a group of six, he didn't know why she was like that, was it that other kids were picking on her? Or was it the damn Military Police, he didn't know but he wasn't going to ask.

Well he could ask the girl's aunt, if he can get her to stop with her Titan rambling that is.

The two carried on their walk to his office where he would resume the damn paperwork since it the paperwork won't be done itself, surprisingly enough she wasn't bored, as a matter of fact she was happy doing nothing, she did have a hectic morning, he didn't know what time she was shaken awake but he had to guess it was very early.

For someone so small she was keeping up with him pretty well, then again, she probably had to keep up with Hanji whenever the brunette ran off.

He muttered as the office door came into view, the sooner the two were in privacy and away from staring eyes the better, she was growing extremely uncomfortable with the attention she didn't want and he wasn't surprised, she was just a child after all.

He reached the door and unlocked the office door as the two walked in. She immediately headed to the sofa and got onto the comfortable seating.

_____ was jolted awake when a bang startled her. Levi glared at the brunette at the door.

“Haven't you heard of knocking!” He barked.

“Awww, don't be like that shorty.”

Hanji gaze went to the dazed girl as she rubbed her eyes, the brunette squealed and rushed over to the sleepy girl.

“You had to barge in my office without knocking! We were enjoying the peace!” He then ranted. “Next time knock on my damn door and don't scare the little brat to death next time!”

He was completely ignored as the mad scientist scooped the girl into her arms, the (h/c) child squirmed.

“Thanks for taking care of her shorty, who knows, I may ask you to be babysitter in the future~.”

“Whatever, don't forget, you owe me.”

“Yeah, yeah, gotta go, my brother is here to collect her.”

The brunette left the office, slamming the door behind her. Levi grumbled and rubbed his temples in a circular motion, damn her.

He was missing the small girl's presence and she just left, she reminded him of why he was fighting for humanity, to give people and children like her a chance to live without fear, to give her a chance to explore beyond the 50 meter walls, a chance to live another day, the thought of the cute, innocent child in the hand of a Titan disgusted him, it scared him also.

Levi grumbled as he headed towards the mess hall for a tea break. He paused when something tackled him, it wasn't strong enough to knock him to the ground and whatever hit him wasn't even his height but shorter. He looked down to his feet to be met with familiar (e/c) orbs.

“Let me guess, four eyes left you all alone.”

She nodded, a few of his favorite curse words rang to mind but he pushed them down, he didn't want to let a swear word slip out, the last thing he wanted was for her to go home, shouting out a few of the colorful words, and him to come face to face with a very angry mother. He took her hand into his own and the two headed off to the mess hall, he made a note to confront Hanji later.
